Intensive Driving Course Also known as a crash course (an unfortunate term for driving) is a course that is compacted into a short time frame, cramming in the necessary training hours. We have intensive course opportunities available on a regular basis. The DSA says "45 hrs with an Approved Driving Instructor plus 20 hrs with friends or family is the national average number of hours of driving that a student takes before passing their test". If you were to take driving lessons 2 hrs a week, including a few convenience breaks, it would take most people about 6 months. For some people 6 months is to long a period of time to take, to pass their test. Everybody has their reasons for wanting speed up the process. Here are a few examples:
What cannot be sped up is how many hours you need in the car. Everybody is unique, with different co-ordination skills, mental approach to challenges and belief in their abilities. Although the national average of 45 hrs is a good guide it does not cater for you personally. This means that if you want cram the driving lessons into a short space of time we need a personalised amount of hours in the car. An assessment drive for an intensive driving course has a twofold purpose:
After an assessment drive, Jonathan would discuss his professional estimate for the number of hours required for a student to pass their driving test. How many of the required hours of training a student would have in a day and how many days in a week, would be dependent on both the students and the driving instructors diary. |
